Approximately 200 new jobs will be created by the development. To
ensure local people benefit from the new job opportunities, Tesco has
established a regeneration partnership with the Jobcentre Plus. This will
provide training, skills and guaranteed job opportunities to long term
unemployed people in the local area.
The regeneration partnership will provide local people who want to take advantage of the new jobs with:
• interview guarantee.
• recruitment on aptitude rather than qualifications.
• conditional job offers before training.
• flexible learning for all abilities.
• work experience.
In addition, all existing Tesco employees will be offered a position in the new store.
Over the past eight years, Tesco have set up 17 Regeneration Partnerships, revitalizing prospects and opportunities for almost 4,000 long term unemployed people.
